Engineered Quartz

Enduring, maintenance-free quality and beauty

Considered by some to be the best overall product of all countertop selections, engineered quartz (or engineered stone) is very popular. This selection is comprised of over 90% quartz mixed with state of the art synthetic polymers to form a nearly indestructible product.

For decades the ideal kitchen countertop in every woman’s imagination was clad in Formica. Thank goodness Formica has gone the way of Beehive hairdoo and now natural stone surfaces have taken over gracing kitchen with the beauty of granite, marble, soapstone and more. But today a new challenger has arrived into kitchen turf wars: engineered quartz. Combining the finest properties of laminate and stone, engineered quartz made a beach head in Europe during the 1990s and is now expanded rapidly across the US. In 2004 alone, U.S. sales increased by 60 percent.

Engineered quartz countertops are manufactured through a process that combines natural quartz with a small volume of polymer resins to create a low-maintenance, super-hard, natural stone-look countertop available in a dazzling array of beautiful colors.

What swings people toward quartz is its virtually unlimited color pallet. “It’s all about color,” explains Rick Buff, owner of Jubilee Company. “Everyone wants their kitchen to be unique and color plays a huge role in complementing any color pallet. Quartz brings out the best in desirable countertop qualities and makes your kitchen a welcoming and low maintenance zone.”
